The Sato lab explores the mechanism behind cellular dynamics, using correlative microscopy with fluorescence and the atmospheric scanning electron microscope (ASEM). The group used the dual-modality probe FluoroNanogold™ to label structures of interest with both a fluorescent probe and a tightly bound gold immunolabel for EM visualization. GoldEnhance™ was used to enlarge the probes with gold, making ultrastructures even more easily visible by backscatter detection in the SEM.
